The Institute for Advance Studies and Cooperation is part of “The International Conference “Local Government 6.0: Social Development – Economic Services – Modern Finance,” a major scientific event that is happening over two days in Wieliczka, Poland.
Our honorary president, Prof. Gabriele Pao-Pei Andreoli, is a speaker at the international session at the opening panel on the second day, referring to the topic “Impact of innovations and civilizations – changes on functioning for the local communities”.
Thanking all the staff and organizations, and in particular the Mayor of Wieliczka, Artur Kozioł, who has not only made the event possible through his dedication but embedded the very spirit of this conference.
He started the speech with a phrase by the Holy Father, Pope Francis, that to him represents the very essence and significance of this event:
“As individuals, we have failed, we will rise again as brothers.”
In order to go to the heart of administrative problems and find solutions, but really to find any solution, we need to go to the root of the problem, to use lateral thinking, to have an interdisciplinary and holistic mind, and moreover, to find collaboration,” says Prof. Andreoli.
In following sustainable development, in his vision, we should be provocative and proactive, and sustainability, from the Latin root “sustain,” is just not enough.
“We want to enhance and strengthen our technological capabilities and align science, technology, and innovation systems and industrial policies so no one is left behind. Simple is not easy because a healthy society needs to build digital skills among students and the workforce and raise general awareness and knowledge,” he says in the speech.
Sharing his experience in the digital world and cyber security, Prof. Andreoli highlights the need to make technology safe and not leave it to become a burden, which affects the system and makes our lives and democracy as fragile as crystal.
“Because whoever owns the technology and the know-how also has access to all the information and so has a great influence, to put it mildly, on every aspect of our lives.” – expalins he.
In the world of destabilization, he raises the question: Should we be afraid, or should we learn to embrace it?
“Let’s remember the meaning of balance in nature: balance is stagnation, and stagnation is death. I shall not want to be balanced; in order to arrive here today, I walked, and for every step I took, I had to lose balance, so we need to learn how to walk on different terrains, and if we are here today, it is because, as human species, we have learned how to continue to prosper and evolve while managing unbalance in a destabilized world.” answers Prof. Andreoli.
As president of the Institute for Advance Studies and Cooperation, his duty is to lead the institution in an interdisciplinary collaborative effort to find real solutions to very real and difficult challenges, and as they study progress in the most different fields from cybersecurity to evolutionary biohacking, regenerative medicine, web 3.0, the metaverse, etc.
The conference is a continuation of the 21st International Conference in the series ECONOMY, FINANCE, AND MANAGEMENT (ICEFM2022), entitled “Contemporary Challenges in Economic Policy, Business, and Management,” held in Wieliczka, Poland.
